Wherever we find a donkey in need, we try to help.
Through 2021 we:
- Attended 942 welfare complaints
- Visited 1,943 Guardian homes
- Provided 433 global learning opportunities at The Donkey Academy
- Published several peer-reviewed papers, helping to boost the knowledge and status of donkeys across the globe.
- Directly reached 9,789 donkeys, 3,317 individuals and 2,136 households, indirectly reaching a further 2,782 donkeys and mules, 719 individuals and 692 households through our Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund.
Our values
Compassion: We help donkeys, and the people who rely on them for their livelihoods, to cope with physical, mental and emotional challenges.
Collaboration: We treat every interaction as a two-way opportunity to learn and teach. Together, we can help our networks of partners, communities and individuals become donkey welfare ambassadors where they live and work.
Creativity: The need for our work is immense, but our resources are finite. This means that we must exercise creativity to deliver our vision.
