To help keep everyone safe, we have limited the number of on-site visitors. Learn more about our new visitor experience.
To help us manage this, we are implementing a booking system for visits between:
- 10am - 12noon
- 1pm - 3pm
Opening times
- Saturdays: 10am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm
- First Sunday of the month: 10am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm
Additional 2023 dates
- Friday 4, 11, 18 and 25 August.
Dog-friendly
We welcome well behaved dogs on site, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Please note there is no access for dogs in the refreshment serving area.

By car
The nearest dual carriageway is the A38 Devon Expressway. Take the Westover Junction where you can follow the B3213 into Ivybridge.
By bus
Local bus routes serving The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge include the X38 and the 20a bus services, which will take you to the centre of Ivybridge.
By bike
There are many cycle routes in and around Ivybridge. The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge can be easily accessed by bike via Godwell Lane or Filham Park.
By foot
The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge is located on the East side of Ivybridge, approximately a 12 to 15 minute walk from the town centre. It can be accessed via Woolcombe Lane onto Godwell Lane. A footpath adjacent to Filham Park veterinary centre leads you directly to our main gate.
