Planning your visit
To help keep everyone safe, we have limited the number of on-site visitors. Learn more about our new visitor experience.
To help us manage this, we are implementing a booking system for visits between:
- 10am - 12noon
- 1pm - 3pm
Opening times
- Saturdays: 10am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm
- First Sunday of the month: 10am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm
Additional 2023 dates
- Friday 4, 11, 18 and 25 August
Dog-friendly
We welcome well behaved dogs on site, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Please note there is no access for dogs in the refreshment serving area.

By car
A61, from Moor Allerton: If travelling North on the A61 from Moor Allerton, take the left hand turn onto the A659 (Otley Road, which becomes Arthington Lane). If travelling South on the A61 from Harrogate, take the right hand turn onto the A659 (Otley Road, which becomes Arthington Lane). Then take the left hand turn to Black Hill Road, which becomes Arthington Road. Turn left onto Black Hill Lane and left again onto Swan Lane to reach The Donkey Sanctuary Leeds.
A660 from Headingley: If travelling North on the A660 from Headingley, take the third exit on the roundabout onto Kings Road. If travelling South on the A660 from Bramhope, take the first exit on the roundabout onto Kings Road. Then turn left onto Arthington Road and then immediately right onto Black Hill Lane. Turn left onto Swan Lane to reach The Donkey Sanctuary Leeds.
